Our experienced driver guide will pick you up at your hotel/apartment in Dubrovnik at 06:00 am and our tour begins. We will be shortly driving through Bosniapassing the town of Trebinje, and continuing through Montenegro before stopping for breakfast/toilet break in front of the town of Niksic.
During the drive, our guide will introduce you to Montenegro and the overall itinerary.
Departing Niksic we will be driving north to the town of Pluzine and Piva river artificial lake where we will commence 50 kilometers of a spectacular scenic drive through Durmitor mountain massive: Glacial lakes, high planes, steep mountains with snow still on the top surrounding the road. Possibility to stop along the way for a snack or lunch in one of the local households (alternatively the lunch will be in Zabljak).
We will arrive in Zabljak at around 12:30-13:00 and it Black Lake (a mountain lake at more than 1600 m of altitude) guests will have free time for swimming, walking, chilling, and a coffee.
After departing Zabljak we will drive through towns of Savnik (we will make short detours to stop at the viewpoint over Kanjon Nevidio) and Niksic before climbing to Ostrog monastery carved in the steep rock. You will hear the story about the wonders of Saint Basil and visit Saint Basil’s painted cave.
Our road continues to Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro where we will check in the hotel (3 or 4 stars, ask us for details) at around 19:15 and spend the night.
You will have the rest of the evening off to wander through Podgorica’s Old and New Centers and have a wonderful dinner in one of its many restaurants.

Day 1 finishes with OVERNIGHT IN PODGORICA.
After breakfast in the hotel, we will check out and continue for 30 min to Rijeka Crnojevica village – the historical capital of 14ct Earldom of Zeta. We will take a private boat ride winding river Crnojevica until Skadar lake national park.
Returning ashore, we will continue through another ancient Montenegrin capital of Cetinje to Lovcen Mountain national park and stop at 1567 m of altitude where we will continue another 445 steps on foot to reach Montenegrin Duke Njegos’s memorial tomb with spectacular 360 view of Montenegro, Adriatic sea, Albania and Croatia.
After marveling the view and visiting Njegos’s tomb, we will continue our descent down to the coast following a 19ct Austrian road with 25 switchbacks, stopping along them for great photo opportunities. We will reach the coast in the town of Kotor.
There will be some time for guests to visit Kotor and have lunch before continuing to Perast.
In the town of Perast, we will board another small private boat to take us to the man-made island of Our Lady of the Rocks where we will visit its Baroque Catholic church and museum, following the short ride back to the mainland
We will continue the drive through UNESCO protected bay of Kotor, passing towns of Risan, Bijela, and Herceg Novi until the border with Croatia.
Crossing the border and 40 min drive back to Dubrovnik. Arrival in Dubrovnik at about 19:15, hotel drop off, and end of the tour.
