Our experienced driver/guide will pick you up at your hotel/Airbnb at 06:00AM for this amazing 2-day tour.
We will continue north of Dubrovnik passing the villages of Trebinje, Bileca, Gacko and enjoying the scenic views. The first stop will be the Sutjeska WW2 Memorial Site, commemorating the death of over 7500 fallen anti-fascist fighters killed in the Nazi Swartz Offensive.
We will visit a massive WW2 monument towering over the whole valley. After breakfast in Sutjeska, we will continue to Sarajevo.
Around 11:30 we will arrive at the Tunnel of Hope (Sarajevo War tunnel) site, where a 900 m tunnel was built to bring food and medical supplies to the city under an almost 4-year siege (1992-1995). You will see video presentations of the War events and visit the first part of the tunnel – a highly interesting and emotional site.
After the tunnel, we will continue the drive to the center of Sarajevo.
Upon arrival to Sarajevo, you will check into your accommodation, and we suggest a quick lunch in one of Sarajevo’s Old Town restaurants.
Your local licensed guide will pick you up at your accommodation for a private walking tour of Sarajevo where he/she will explain the history of Sarajevo and show you all major sights.
The rest of the afternoon is on you to explore.
Our suggestions for late afternoon/evening:
08:00 AM hotel breakfast and checkout. Departing Sarajevo towards the town of Konjic (around 1:15 hours drive). We will have a guided tour of the whole bunker complex, war room, oil and water storage, helicopter shafts, army barracks, etc with great photo opportunities – a new and truly unique site to visit.
Following the bunker visit, we will continue our drive to Mostar. In Mostar, there will be 3 hours’ time to have lunch and visit the city.
Mostar sites include: 16ct Ottoman Turkish Center with stunning horse-shoe Old Bridge, Bazaar Street, Koski Beg Mosque, Crooked Bridge, Tabhana mosque, 16ct, Watchtower
At about 16:30 we will depart from Mostar and drive along the rugged places of Hercegovina passing towns of Stolac, Ljubinje, Ravno and entering back to Croatia (occasional photo/toilet/coffee stops.)
