With a population of a larger European city suburb (650.000), Montenegro is an enchanting little country full of extreme geographical diversities.
Great mountains with snow peaks, steep fiord-like hills plummeting almost vertically into the Adriatic Sea, mountain lakes full of fish, mystical monasteries carved in the solid rock, sand, and sunny beaches that go on for miles alongside the coast. That is all Montenegro.
It’s easy to reach Montenegro from Dubrovnik.

We start our tour from Dubrovnik driving south alongside the Adriatic coast passing the town of Cavtat and Konavle region and soon crossing the border to Montenegro (do not forget your passports). We drive alongside the Kotor bay (Europe’s most southern fiord) passing the towns of Igalo, Herceg Novi (two great Turkish, later Venetian fortresses), Bijela, Kamenari, pausing for a photo-stop in front of magical Perast – city of seamen and 2 small islands with churches (St. George and Our Lady of the Rocks/Gospa od Škrpjela). We continue through Risan, stoping at Perast while the guide points out major buildings and explains its rich history, finally reaching the city of Kotor, nested at the very bottom of Kotor bay and surrounded by formidable verticals of neighboring mountains.

We stop in Kotor where you will have time to explore the city (Venetian Palaces, Orthodox Church, St. Triphon- Kotor’s protector Catholic church, massive city walls, St. John fortress – 263 meters vertical from Kotor (optional) by yourself.

Following Kotor, we drive to Trojica Mountain Pass to a panorama photo stop overlooking Kotor and the inner part of Kotor Bay from above.

Descending from Trojica and passing alongside Tivat international airport we stop in the town of Tivat at Porto Montenegro -a luxury mega yacht marina with hotels, shops, restaurants, and cafe bars where our guests usually have lunch (if guests want, they can stay more time in Kotor and have lunch there).

Departing Tivat we will cross Kotor Bay by short 15 min ferry ride and continue to one of the 2 borders with Croatia (the driver always tries to choose the one with the least traffic). After having passed the border we have about 40 minutes to your hotel in Dubrovnik.

NOTE: Upon prior request by our guests we can also visit other towns in Montenegro such as Budva, but ciesed going to Budva in summer months due to extreme traffic jams and waiting in traffic around Budva town.
