Mostar & Herzegovina discovery tour (full day)
Herzegovina is a country of great natural wonders, rivers rich with water and mix of cultures all living under the same sky! Take the tour with us and get acquainted with the lifestyle of people of Mostar – a city of Muslims and Christians living on a different bank of River Neeretva, connected by Old Mostar bridge but devided by river Neretva and strong ideologies deeply embedded in both nations.
We start our tour from Dubrovnik and after driving alongside Adriatic coast we cross border with Bosnia and Herzegovina within 1,5 hours drive (do not forget your passports) at Metkovic and in 10 mins time we reach the city of Pocitelj, old Dubrovnik Republic trade outpost on Neretva River and later a Turkish Muslim enclave (still well preserved).

You will have a chance to try Turkish style black coffee alongside Neretva River or to have lunch of selected Bosnian (herzegovian) specialties (Čevapčići u somunu– minced meet in Pita bread with cream and onion) in family owned traditional restaurants.
After free time we can stop (optional) at the source of River Buna (fastest river flow at its spring in Europe), and Dervish Tekija (house of medieval Muslim Dervishes’ prayer and contemplation. After Buna we continue towards Dubrovnik, stopping along the road at your preferences.

One of Europe’s most famous Christian pilgrimage destinations, a please od Maria’s worshiping where Christians believe that Virgin Mary in 1981. revealed herself in front of the eyes of 8 children, 2 of which, today grownups with families of their own, still get the visions from Virgin Mary and speak it to the crowds. People from all over the world come to this place of hope any prayer and even people who are not believers and have spent some times in Medjugorje witness of its miracle.

45 min stop in Trsteno (on our way to Ston), beutiful estate of 15-17.ct aristocratic family Gucetic (Gozze), and Arboretum (Gozze family was passionate collector of different exotic plant species which are all integral part of their estate) with gorgeous green avenues, fountains, walking paths covered by eucalyptus and other exotic trees whose seeds were brought to Gozze family by Dubrovnik Sailors and seamen throughout the centuries etc…
Ston – 14.ct city built according to perfect architectonic plan by Dubrovnik Republic. The whole city is surrounded by 5,5 km long wall (second longest preserved wall in the world) that reaches from one sea to another creating man made border and stand off point for any intruders trying to invade the peninsula of Peljesac. After walking the walls, we will visit ancient salt factory (13.ct) where production still takes place under natural conditions on the same principles it has been running continuously for more than 7 centuries
Waterfalls 25 meter high waterfalls on River Trebizat make Kravice region greatly appreciated by many visitors and campers. If it is summer season do not miss the chance to soak your feet in the fresh Trebizat water, or if you are brave enough, try jumping from one of the waterfalls (your driver and guide will be peacefully watching from the distanceJ )
